Structural Analysis

Vorticity has developed considerable expertise in the use of the LS-DYNA code to simulate a wide variety of structural problems.

These structural problems include determining the optimal capsule design for the SuperMax test vehicle on a MAXUS sounding rocket, assessing the airbag system impacts on rock-strewn planetary surfaces, the deformation of inflatable structures used for aerocapture and aerodynamic deceleration, and the crushing of a probe used to deliver an experimental package to Jupiter’s moon Europa during high-speed impact with the icy surface.
